Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis Must Step Aside Or Remove Special Prosecutor In Trump Case, Judge Says
Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis must step aside from the Georgia election interference case against Donald Trump or remove the special prosecutor with whom she had a romantic relationship before the case can proceed, the judge overseeing it ruled Friday. Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee did not find that Willis’ relationship with special prosecutor Nathan Wade amounted to a conflict of interest that should disqualify her from the most sprawling of the four criminal cases against the former president. However, the judge said, it created “an appearance of impropriety” that infected the prosecution team, and he questioned the truthfulness of Willis and Wade’s testimony about the timing of their relationship. We examine the case from a cultural and legal standpoint with Sara Forden, legal editor for Bloomberg News, and Fred Smith Jr., professor of law at Emory University in Atlanta.

Grief Dreams: What Dreaming Of The Deceased Can Tell Us About The Bereavement Process
After a loved one dies, some people report seeing them in their dreams. Maybe to say goodbye for the last time, maybe to talk and catch up on current life. Sometimes the deceased says nothing at all. These dreams are what researchers call grief or bereavement dreams, and the few studies that have been done on them hypothesize that they may be part of the coping process, either to cope with the loss of someone or to cope with death in general. Grief dreams can bring people comfort during a time of mourning and may help us feel that our loved ones are never truly gone. So, what role do grief dreams have in the grieving process? And why do so many people experience them? Joining us today to discuss this fascinating phenomenon is Joshua Black, grief and bereavement researcher and host of the Grief Dreams Podcast. We’d also like to hear from you! If you have dreamt of a loved one, please share it with us. How did it make you feel? You can call us at 866-893-5722 or you can email us at atcomments@laist.com.
Beard Award Semifinalist Rashida Holmes On Bringing Flavors From Her Caribbean And West Indian Roots To LA
Roti stands are to Trinidad and Barbados what taco stands are to Los Angeles -- found just about everywhere and slinging beloved street food that’s almost always good. Traditionally, roti describes a type of unleavened bread used in Indian and South/Southeast Asian cuisine, but in the Caribbean roti is also a type of street food in which roti is used as a wrap for combinations of meat and veggies. It’s the ubiquity of the roti in Caribbean and Bajan cuisine, and her own heritage, that inspired Rashida Holmes to start Bridgetown Roti as a pop-up in front of her Boyle Heights home with her wife, Shanika. Word spread about this little pop-up that could (and did), and today Chef Holmes is cranking out her signature roti in a full brick-and-mortar restaurant in Downtown Los Angeles. She was a finalist in 2023 for a Beard Award for Emerging Chef, and this year she earned a semifinalist nod in the Outstanding Chef category.
Today on AirTalk, Chef Holmes joins Austin Cross to talk about her second Beard nomination, explain what inspired her to start Bridgetown Roti and share some of her delicious roti.
