Nard Strike Seeks Woking Improvement from FG

 

Nard strike of the Nigerian Association of Resident Doctors (NARD) has given itself an additional two weeks to go on strike.

About the Nard Strike 

On July 30, NARD gave the federal government a two-week deadline to put the agreement on its members’ welfare into effect.

The deadline passed on August 14; nonetheless, the association deferred deciding until after its emergency NEC meeting.

The NARD president, Godiya Ishaya, told reporters following the meeting on Sunday in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State, that the group had resolved to extend the deadline by two weeks.

The Demand and Salaries of Nard

He encouraged the federal government to establish the 2022 Medical Residency Training Fund (MRTF) as soon as possible and to pay members using the previous pattern.

The Nigerian Medical Association (NMA) and NARD would continue to collaborate closely in order to administer and pay the new hazard allowance to all affected healthcare professionals, he noted.

Ishaya applauded the federal ministries of health, labour, and employment and the National Salaries Income and Wages Commission for their efforts to support the MRTF’s upward revision.
